An Update on Dan's weight-loss Journey

Over the past 7 months Dan credits his Nutrition coach for "Teaching him how to fish!"

Nothing besides the food that Dan eats has changed over the past 7 months. He workouts the same, sleeps the same, and stress levels are the same.  The difference is in what he eats.

Dan's journey isn't much unlike many others other than he's a coach and one of the owners here at CrossFit Reanimated. Many people think we have a gym it's easy to stay fit and healthy.  The truth is we're just like everyone else and sometimes life happens.  

For many years about  Dan's weight hung out at around 165lbs and he looked like he does now. 

The results so far a much happier and healthier Dan.

▶️-18 lbs Lost
▶️-3% Body Fat Lost
▶️-Knowledge and confidence have been gained

Here is his story and how it all started. 

REWIND--
Just over a year ago, I was 165 lbs and I had been that way for 4 years. Somewhere along the way, I started losing control. It didn’t happen quickly, but it happened. I started eating everything I wanted – because I “work out”. I gained 15 pounds in a year. A small part of that was muscle and everything was going great. Then I kept eating, got hurt and didn’t think about what I was doing.

Before that (2012), I was an unhappy 182 lbs.
 
FAST FORWARD –
After thanksgiving 2017, I finally had enough. I looked in the mirror and although a couple abs were still showing, my face was bigger, I lost confidence, etc…
On December 4th, 2017, I decided to change. Yes, the holiday season was still coming up. No worries, I kept my eye on the prize. I was going to Germany on 1/19/18 and I didn’t want to feel bad about eating some really good food.
 
THE GOAL –
Lose 10 pounds before the Germany trip using the CFR nutrition plan. Side Effect: Re-Learn how to eat.
 
RESULTS –
I had 0 cookies/deserts.
I measured my food on Christmas eve
I treated on the Christmas meal (prime rib, mashed potatoes and popovers, but no desert.)
 
I woke up December 26th, 6 lbs down from where I started just over 3 weeks ago. Happy with the scale and how I look and feel…
 
No need for a new years resolution, I just decided now is the time. I've kept at this since November through the holidays, vacations, and life and Treats.

Each day I wake up and remember what I've learned and that this is a lifestyle and has become habit it's not a diet!
