Kelli feels like she's in her 20's after only 8 weeks!

I thought I knew how to eat healthy,  I always maintained a comfortable weight, but I was always tired and had little energy.  I suffered a knee injury in Nov 2017 and I basically stopped doing any type of exercise.  The catalyst for my journey, as I like to call this, was I realized in Feb 2018 I was 10-15 pounds over my normal weight and I just did not move well.

Group Classes VS Private Training – Which Is Right For You?

So you may be asking yourself, are group classes or 1-on-1 sessions right for me?

Before you try to get the most bang for your buck, ask yourself a couple questions.

Am I just beginning my fitness journey?

Do I have specific goals I want to reach? (fat loss, muscle gain, etc.)

Am I unsure of what exercises best fit what I am looking to achieve?

Do I need undivided attention while working out?

Do I have trouble staying consistent with my fitness routine?

Do I dislike working out in front of people?

Do I have any body/movement limitations?

If you answered “yes” to majority of these questions, chances are 1-on-1 training could be the right fit for you. Although it may be pricier, Personal training can be an investment to your health if you prefer undivided attention and a customized workout for your needs. Starting with a proper evaluation, your workouts are built specifically to address your goals. And not just for your body type, but in consideration of your health history and your baseline level of fitness. Having a trainer can ensure keeping proper form, safety, and exercises to fit your needs. If you struggle staying consistent with attending your group classes, having a trainer will ensure your accountability with sticking to your plan.

Fitness is not a one-size-fits-all, however group fitness classes can be what you prefer! Whether it’s a Crossfit, Zumba, Pilates, or spin class, there’s a different class to meet your needs.

Do I enjoy working out with others/in a group setting?

Am I accountable enough to consistently attend class?

I am aware of my own body’s fitness limitations?

Is my schedule flexible enough to fit in the class times?

Do I enjoy a structured 1 hour class?

If you answered “yes” to a majority of these questions, group classes could be the right fit for you!  Working out in a group setting can feel motivating and push yourself to work harder. Once you find a class that you love, all you need to do is show up! Many gyms and studios will have packages/memberships that you can pick from to serve your needs.

As always, staying consistent and getting exercise at least 3x a week will help you reach your goals. If you are interested in 1-on-1 training or group classes, let’s talk about those goals! Email me or schedule a 15 min. consult.

How to Get the Most Out of Your Training

So you decided that you’re going to make a change and invest in yourself. You found a gym, you’ve paid for a nutrition plan, and you’re being consistent *as possible* with coming to your sessions.

However, you’re still not seeing results, maybe things are getting worse. But how? Why? You did everything right.

How Dan Lost 24lbs and is Stronger over the last 7 Months!

Just over a year ago, I was 165 lbs and I had been that way for 4 years. Somewhere along the way, I started losing control. It didn’t happen quickly, but it happened. I started eating everything I wanted – because I “work out”. I gained 15 pounds in a year. A small part of that was muscle and everything was going great. Then I kept eating, and didn’t think about what I was doing.

Let me tell you about OREO'S

Me: Yes please get rid of them, but let me have one more
Him: Okay I'll hide them
Me: You should probably throw them out
Him: Really? Can't I just hide them?
Me: No, I'll probably pull the kitchen apart looking for them.
Him: Okay :(
Me: In fact why don't you put them way down in the garbage with some other stuff on top of it.
