Athletics, health, and fitness were always major parts of Sara’s life; she is an avid water-skier, snow skier, and outdoor enthusiast. Sara began her career in fitness with Pilates training in 2010.

Prior to becoming a CrossFit Level One Trainer, Sara pursued her passion for fitness and helping people improve strength and stability through Pilates. She received her Pilates certification, completing a 600-hour training program through Power Pilates in NY. She developed advanced training in both mat and apparatus. Sara started teaching private and group classes in 2011.

Discovering Pilates in 2008 was a blessing in disguise after an injury prevented her from doing some of the things she loved. Pilates enabled return to her chosen sports and led to drastic improvements in performance. Then CrossFit really changed everything! With CrossFit she realized there were many similarities between the two disciplines that complemented each other in many ways.

It is now Sara’s passion to help people become more active and live healthier lifestyles. She believes teaching both CrossFit and Pilates is the most rewarding and conducive way to make a positive difference in another’s life. Providing a balance of functional movements, intensity and variety, CrossFit, along with the virtuosity complement of Pilates, provides a system for people to reach amazing fitness goals!

Dan’s journey with CrossFit started in early 2009 when a colleague was coming to the office everyday absolutely glowing about the crazy workout she did that morning. She and Dan started talking daily about CrossFit, the overall theory behind it and breaking down WODs on the whiteboard. At the same time Dan was trying to get back into shape after he spent an extended period recovering from a soccer injury. The old gym routine seemed unbearable so Dan decided to try CrossFit… Humbled after his first WOD with burpees, he was hooked. He started building a garage gym since there were not that many CrossFit boxes around at the time. Just 6 months after starting CrossFit Dan was able to complete a 50 mile mountain bike race based mostly on the fitness gained through CrossFit and almost a 2 year break in a regular routine.

Later that year Dan earned his Level 1 Trainer Certificate and started planning how he could open his own Affiliate and share this amazing way of life with others. Dan first started shadowing and coaching at CrossFit Full Potential in 2011. Since moving to Virginia Beach, he’s finally able to step away from life as a technology consultant and focus on his passion of owning and operating a CrossFit Affiliate in a city he has grown to love and happily call home.

Outside of CrossFit, athletics and fitness have been a part of Dan’s life since childhood. He was a collegiate soccer player and is still active in many other sports. Some of his current favorites are Snowboarding, Mountain Biking, Volleyball, and Wakeboarding. Since moving to Virginia Beach he hopes to pick up kite boarding and surfing in the near future.

This Navy Wife and mother of three started her CrossFit journey while she and her family were stationed in Atsugi, Japan. With all of her children old enough to attend school and her husband away on long deployments, Michelle was looking for a challenge to fill her spare time. In the spring of 2009 she found just that. She found herself covered with blood, sweat and tears with some of the best people she has ever met in her life. Needless to say she was hooked.

March of 2011, Japan was rocked by a 10.0 earthquake which put a hold on Michelle’s CrossFit aspirations. The Navy evacuated her and the kids to New Bedford, Massachusetts. In April 2011 at Rebook One in Canton Massachusetts, Michelle completed her Level One. When she returned to Japan in May of 2011 she began coaching classes. With her time in Japan, she completed 2 Mini Triathlons, two half marathons, and an Ekiden Relay. Showing off her mental toughness she climbed Mountain Fuji not just once, but twice!

Michelle and family landed in Virginia Beach in October 2011. Since then she has been coaching locally. She has competed in many local events such as the Open, Gangs of Mid Atlantic, Team Grit, The Garage Games and many more. Michelle’s professionalism, passion, camaraderie, eye for detail and team building embodies the core values of CrossFit and makes a welcome addition for our Box. No matter what your fitness goal is, she is here to make you the best you can be! We are lucky to have her.

Eric is a true embodiment of the constantly varied mantra of CrossFit.  From a youth spent riding horses, running, orienteering (think cross country but with no trails and a compass), snowboarding, mountain biking and rock climbing; Eric has always been seeking new sports and activities to try.  While not officially starting CrossFit until late 2013, Eric had been pulling workouts from the main site to try with friends since 2008.  After finally taking the plunge by signing up with an affiliate full time, work got in the way and Eric fell off the bandwagon for two years.  Upon his return to the gym, Eric jumped in with both feet to fully commit to his training at Reanimated and started the process to become a coach.  Eric is always working on a new element to become the most well-rounded athlete and coach and loves to share his passion for the gym with others.  When Eric’s not at the box coaching, taking class or attempting to better his Pilates work, you’ll find him hanging out with his dogs, working on a car/bike or playing whatever pickup game he can find.

Favorite WOD:  Diane
Why?  Quick and intense with two of my favorite movements.

Least Favorite WOD (for now): Fran
Why?  Thrusters!  I’m still working on keeping my squats upright, so the thruster isn’t my best movement...yet.
